The teams both lined up their players in 3-5-2 formations. Grilled demonstrated their titanic creative tactics on the field. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
Bernie Egan was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 2 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
Prokop Mottl slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
Ixtiyor Behruzov, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Down the middle came
Bernie Egan, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 17 minutes, but
Ixtiyor Behruzov preserved the tie. Grilled took the lead after 27 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Vikram Mudaliar placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Moey Xin Seng after 30 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Islam Niyozbek from Pedalando a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Halftime score was 0 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Bernie Egan reluctantly made way for
Chu Xin Lee on the pitch.
Kozim Abdul showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 47 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. After 52 minutes, Grilled put themselves up 1 - 2, as
Chu Xin Lee finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
Islom Davlatov was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's
Chu Xin Lee managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 3 After 60 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Chu Xin Lee a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
Chu Xin Lee. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
José Luiz Velho came on for
Pompeo Bellamoli. Pedalando nearly produced a goal as
Ixtiyor Behruzov set up
Nariman Mirzajonov for a strike from a seemingly impossible angle. However he put the shot narrowly wide.
Kalki Parvathaneni received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 84 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. Grilled increased the lead to 1 - 6 as
Jérémy Tarin scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. The match ends 1 - 6. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 75 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Pedalando player was without a doubt
Narzhan Kalimbetov. On the other hand,
Islom G’ayratov's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was
Moey Xin Seng. However,
Jérémy Tarin made a disastrous appearance.
