Grilled Birds fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For SaxyTeam Budapest, the formation of choice was 5-3-2. Grilled displayed their titanic ability to play creatively. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of SaxyTeam, taking advantage of their world class level with that tactic. The referee showed SaxyTeam's Pál Mogyorós the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Despite hurting his left foot at the 20 minute mark, Vikram Mudaliar decided to keep playing. 21 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to solid. SaxyTeam caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 26 minutes into the match. László Biró was able to finish off the move - 0 - 1. Grilled's Chu Xin Lee set up a perfect opportunity for Vikram Mudaliar, but the latter failed to score. Moey Xin Seng hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Grilled's Prokop Mottl an easy chance to knock it in for 1 - 1. 36 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. Grilled took the lead 38 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Pompeo Bellamoli elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 84 percent of the time.

A review of the gameplan helped Grilled get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Chirag Thevar came on for José Luiz Velho. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Pompeo Bellamoli gave Leonard Nguyen a quick hug as he left the field. 53 minutes into the game SaxyTeam managed a counterattack, but Zsolt Lalusz took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Rıfat Pir was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from SaxyTeam's defence 55 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 2 - 2. 74 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. They were singing the praises of Prokop Mottl 79 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Grilled. Grilled solidified their lead at the 83 minute mark, as Vikram Mudaliar dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2. Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni got himself booked for a foul. Gergő Orbán was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 85 minutes. The replacement for the injured player was Márk Selmeczi. Chirag Thevar was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's Prokop Mottl managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 5 - 2 This third goal completed a hattrick for Prokop Mottl. With the clock showing 88 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of SaxyTeam resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Pál Mogyorós in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 5 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 5 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 84 percent of possession.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Moey Xin Seng. Jérémy Tarin on the other hand, had a terrible day. SaxyTeam's best player was Rıfat Pir. Márk Selmeczi turned in a dismal performance, however.
