It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-4-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. The strategy for BEDOK was to use their inadequate ability to press. 0 - 1 was the score with 3 minutes played, after
Kalki Parvathaneni cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. The visitors'
Bilal Mohammad Harun took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 16 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. After 35 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Chan Ze Han who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. A drive down the left side allowed
Vikram Mudaliar to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 36 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 4. After 37 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Bilal Mohammad Harun to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. It was 0 - 5 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.
The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
Prokop Mottl came on for
Vikram Mudaliar.
Gilbert Webb would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. 49 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 6 as
Prokop Mottl finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. With 52 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Chan Ze Han of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 7. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Cyril Künzler gave
Chu Xin Lee a quick hug as he left the field. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi put the visitors up 0 - 8 after 60 minutes. The referee showed BEDOK's
Afi Khaled Silmi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The referee signalled a penalty 77 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
Bhavya Panigrahi knocked it home to make the score 0 - 9. It was a fine day for
Kalki Parvathaneni on his wing, his cross pass to
Heng Dong Chu was especially delicate 78 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. BEDOK's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 9. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 80 percent of the ball.
BEDOK's top performer was clearly
Markus Lakela.
Chew Chee Shun was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was
Moey Xin Seng.
Eren Serpin on the other hand, had a terrible day.
