Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Fileja decided to play creatively at a mythical level. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+5) ability to attack in the middle. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 9 minutes allowed
Heng Dong Chu to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. After 13 minutes, Grilled attempted an attack but had to cede the ball in frustration. They could not find their way through the mighty
Munny Moul, who acted as an effective roadblock on Fileja's defensive midfield. Fileja's
Zhasulan Kazbekov was shown a yellow card after 24 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
After 32 minutes of game time,
Islom Davlatov had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Sorin Tarnu was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. 33 minutes in, Fileja's
Michel Arnhard received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) reluctantly made way for
Bhavya Panigrahi on the pitch. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni came on for
Neeraj Muthyala. A drive down the left side allowed
Bhavya Panigrahi to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 47 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. Fileja's
Munny Moul's long shot really ought to have found the net 75 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 77 minutes, Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni got himself booked for a foul.
Stig Sogge earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 83 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Fileja. 1 - 3. The visitors almost increased their lead after 84 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. The referee showed Fileja's
Stig Sogge the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. With 89 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Chan Ze Han of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4. With 89 minutes gone, Fileja's
Zhasulan Kazbekov had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. The match ends 1 - 4. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Fileja's top performer was clearly
Michel Arnhard.
Johannes Standlauf was a disappointment, however.
Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled.
Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however.
