Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For fc saudimarakis, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+5) level with that tactic. Where ever Chan Ze Han went, Quinto Lieger was there, nibbling on his heels. An admirable display of efficient man marking! Many thought Chu Xin Lee ought to have been awarded a penalty 12 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Federico Croce after a determined run through the middle. Grilled created a good opportunity to score 14 minutes into the match when Heng Dong Chu's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. The referee showed Grilled's Neeraj Muthyala the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 23 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by saudimarakis's Ivan Miškić reached Khalid Al-Kalbani's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 1. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bhavya Panigrahi came on for 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita). After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Neeraj Muthyala off the field. Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. Dejan Spielmann of saudimarakis took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 51 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper Federico Croce and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Grilled, but Moey Xin Seng's finish was way too lame. Grilled's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 79 minutes into the match as Kalki Parvathaneni ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. After 80 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Khalid Al-Kalbani who increased saudimarakis's lead to 1 - 3. After 84 minutes, Chu Xin Lee had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Grilled with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Grilled's Bhavya Panigrahi got himself booked for a foul. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 1 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Most important Grilled player was Moey Xin Seng. However, Chan Ze Han made a disastrous appearance. saudimarakis's top performer was clearly Haroon Laith Al-Shabiby. Quinto Lieger on the other hand, had a terrible day.
