The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while FC Vienna Forces has decided to play a 4-3-3 lineup. Vienna clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. Down the middle came
Roman Pürstinger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Vienna take the lead after 8 minutes, but
Massoud Dob preserved the tie. Grilled caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 9 minutes into the match.
Islom Davlatov was able to finish off the move - 1 - 0.
Cyril Künzler could have increased the lead after 22 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 25 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Cyril Künzler broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Grilled. After 28 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Islom Davlatov increasing the lead to 4 - 0. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 60 minutes, as the home defence went to sleep, leaving
Patrick 'Kamikaze' Köhler completely unmarked in the middle. His strike was pathetic though, and dribbled into the arms of the home side's keeper. Vienna's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 65 minutes gone, but
Richard Nagy's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 68 minutes, the defensive line of Vienna created a counterattack through the middle that gave
Armin Geisler a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Neeraj Muthyala reluctantly made way for
Kalki Parvathaneni on the pitch.
Islom Davlatov would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bernie Egan entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 70 minutes.
Heng Dong Chu should probably have put his team up another goal after 71 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Jan 'Flying Dutchman' van Halst kept the visitors in the game. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 1 minute as stoppage time.
Heng Dong Chu made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 89 minutes into the match.
Bilal Mohammad Harun bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Grilled. 5 - 0. After 89 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Jan 'Flying Dutchman' van Halst made a spectacular save. The goal to make it 5 - 1 was scored by
Richard Nagy after 90 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Vienna. The match ends 5 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.
Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled. However,
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) made a disastrous appearance. Most important Vienna player was
Jan 'Flying Dutchman' van Halst.
Joel Sheridan on the other hand, had a terrible day.
