N.W.B 1 - 3 Grilled

3449 spectators had found their way to N.W.B 2 Arena, despite the heavy rain. 哲夫 (Tetsuo) 柳沢 (Yanagisawa) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mark Ölscher and Brian Keohane. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. Starters: Ndugo - Ngetich, Soita, Obado - Kalinga, Nyingi, Bonzo, Ogola, Ogola - Kinyor, Wangechi.

The following players had been chosen: Serpin - 奥谷 (Okuya), Abdul Majid, Tarin - Parvathaneni, Mudaliar, Egan, Dong Chu, Davlatov - Mottl, Velho.

3-5-2 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. 22 minutes in, N.W.B's Enzi Kalinga received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 25 minutes, Grilled's Bernie Egan made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 37 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid. The home crowd cheered when, after 38 minutes, Vikram Mudaliar's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from Vikram Mudaliar after 39 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. 41 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. Grilled came close to extending their lead as Bernie Egan delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 42 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. N.W.B's Zahun Bonzo was shown a yellow card after 43 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 43 minutes, Jérémy Tarin suffered a slight injury to his right calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. Enzi Kalinga looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for N.W.B, the ball went just barely wide. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. After 44 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Islom Davlatov a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Grilled was able to get his message across, and raised Grilled's organisation to solid. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bhavya Panigrahi came on for Islom Davlatov. After 47 minutes of game time, 洸平 (Kohei) 奥谷 (Okuya) had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Parmenas Ndugo was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. It took several tries, but N.W.B managed to break through on the left after 48 minutes, getting the ball to Zahun Bonzo who easily reduced the lead to make the score 1 - 2. Bernie Egan came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Parmenas Ndugo but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 73 minutes, Grilled's José Luiz Velho burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. After 75 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Prokop Mottl off the field. Yee Jian Hui took his place. Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. N.W.B's Jelani Nyingi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 89 minutes. The match ends 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

N.W.B's top performer was clearly Rashidi Kinyor. However, Hamidi Ngetich made a disastrous appearance. Bernie Egan performed admirably for Grilled. Eren Serpin turned in a dismal performance, however.
