The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Roseburn Rangers went for 3-5-2 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Roseburn seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their supernatural level with that tactic. 9 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as
Bhavya Panigrahi broke through on the right.
Goris Hermus made the save, however. After 10 minutes,
Kalki Parvathaneni sprinted between the opposing defenders and squared the ball, but the keeper deflected
Bhavya Panigrahi's shot. Down the middle came
Chan Ze Han, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 18 minutes, but
Goris Hermus preserved the tie. Grilled took the lead after 21 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Kalki Parvathaneni placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The referee showed Roseburn's
Carlo Soderi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 25 minutes of play,
Aw Yeng Ping evened things up for Roseburn with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Islom Davlatov came on for
Bhavya Panigrahi. As
Bhavya Panigrahi left the field, the coach signaled to
Bilal Mohammad Harun to be the new set pieces taker. The visiting
Bernie Egan was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 54 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. After 55 minutes of game time,
Chan Ze Han had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Goris Hermus was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 56 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. 70 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 3 as
Neeraj Muthyala finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Roseburn's
Tommaso Mazzeschi cut towards the middle after 73 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 2 - 3. With 74 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Islom Davlatov of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 2 - 4.
Chu Xin Lee would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 69 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Roseburn player was without a doubt
Makan Amirpour. On the other hand,
Sorin Bratiloveanu's play was disheartening.
Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled.
Hong Trung Qu was a disappointment, however.
