KingofNoobs 5 - 1 Grilled
47612 spectators had found their way to
Noobs Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Pacífico Medina Martín was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Iginio Piccolo and
Julio Martínez Lamas. The rain was pouring down, it was the kind of weather favoured by strong players who stick to simple football. For players possessing of speed or technical skills, the day really was as grim as for everyone else. The following players took the field:
Coleman -
Al-Shanfary,
Pawełczuk -
Ermolovich,
Rivadeneira,
Seglersheim,
Keng Jing,
Auner -
阿久根 (Akune),
Yong Huat,
Pivovarský.
The following players had been chosen:
Dob -
Webb,
中北 (Nakakita) -
Künzler,
Xin Seng,
Mohammad Harun,
Xin Lee,
Romijn -
Mudaliar,
Ze Han,
Parvathaneni.
2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) level with that tactic.
Archibald Auner gave KingofNoobs the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 The referee showed KingofNoobs's
Ang Keng Jing the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Always quick and a menace to his opponents,
Florus Romijn was very close to getting through after 10 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms. After 13 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Zhang Yong Huat gave the KingofNoobs supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. A bit later, Grilled's
Chu Xin Lee easily reduced the lead to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
Finn Coleman's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from
Kalki Parvathaneni's shot from the left 32 minutes into the match.
聖也 (Seiya) 阿久根 (Akune) could have put KingofNoobs up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 36 minutes. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
KingofNoobs increased the lead as
Xerardo Rivadeneira struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Zhang Yong Huat increased the lead for KingofNoobs to 4 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! The crowd roared its approval when
Finn Coleman somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Grilled's
Cyril Künzler 72 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. After 75 minutes, KingofNoobs sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
Stanislav Ermolovich, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 5 - 1. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Neeraj Muthyala came on for
Chu Xin Lee. As the 88 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Bilal Mohammad Harun reluctantly made way for
Bernie Egan on the pitch. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 5 - 1. Possession was split evenly between the teams.
The most dominating KingofNoobs player was without a doubt
Ang Keng Jing.
Zhang Yong Huat was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. On the other hand,
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita)'s play was disheartening.
