SSC Sing entered the field in a 4-4-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. A badly positioned defensive formation on a free kick after 2 minutes led to Grilled's
Cyril Künzler giving the visitors the lead 0 - 1.
Kalki Parvathaneni received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 32 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 33 minutes, Grilled's
Florus Romijn burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. An amazing free kick flew past the home keeper 35 minutes into the match, putting Grilled ahead 0 - 4.
Cyril Künzler was the scorer. After 37 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Moey Xin Seng a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5.
Akhbar Mohd Alim was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 38 minutes.
Kok Chin Ze tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. With
Akhbar Mohd Alim no longer on the pitch,
Chan Kong Wei became the new set pieces taker. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 5. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 84 percent.
After 54 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Kalki Parvathaneni to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 6. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) gave
Bhavya Panigrahi a quick hug as he left the field. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Neeraj Muthyala from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 60 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Li Jian Loong was unable to continue, following a severe injury to his left knee, 60 minutes into the match. This gave
Hafiz Asyari Azim a chance to take to the field instead. The home crowd was not impressed when
Gilbert Webb came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 69 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 7. With 70 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Kalki Parvathaneni of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8. By then
Kalki Parvathaneni had scored three goals - a hat trick! As the 75 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Chan Ze Han reluctantly made way for
Prokop Mottl on the pitch. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Moey Xin Seng took over the role of being the Grilled captain. After 77 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Prokop Mottl who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 9.
Kalki Parvathaneni would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Pompeo Bellamoli entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 5 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. With the scoreboard showing that 90 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Florus Romijn came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The match ends 0 - 9. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 87 percent of possession.
The most dominating Sing player was without a doubt
Bill Duffey.
Chan Kong Wei turned in a dismal performance, however.
Vikram Mudaliar performed admirably for Grilled.
Pompeo Bellamoli was a disappointment, however.
