It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-5-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+2) level with that tactic. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 10 minutes, Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Having taken a hard knock between his legs,
Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid limped off the pitch in a reduced state of dignity. He could not continue, managing only 18 minutes for his team this day. This gave
Gilbert Webb a chance to take to the field instead. The home crowd cheered when, after 32 minutes,
Moey Xin Seng's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Frater almost scored after a swift counterattack 33 minutes into the game, but
John Sumner put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. After 35 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Vikram Mudaliar who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 2. The home team's supporters got excited again when
Kenzo Dorado broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 2. It was almost a goal for Grilled following
Moey Xin Seng's good header after a corner, it went just over the bar though. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 71 percent of the time.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for
Bhavya Panigrahi on the pitch. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Bhavya Panigrahi from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 63 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 68 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Chan Ze Han a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3.
Bernie Egan increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Jos Luiz Velho came on for
Neeraj Muthyala. 80 minutes into the game, Frater seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. Grilled increased the lead to 1 - 5 as
Bilal Mohammad Harun scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. After 83 minutes, Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 6.
Hortensio Garca was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 85 minutes.
Fabio Saucedo tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 1 - 6. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
John Sumner performed admirably for Frater.
Abad Bocangel was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was
Moey Xin Seng.
Krystian Rykowski turned in a dismal performance, however.
