Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For 1.FcNürnberg, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 4 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Neeraj Muthyala, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Vikram Mudaliar after 13 minutes. With clinical precision, the cross from winger Florus Romijn found its way to Neeraj Muthyala's head, and a screaming header gave Grilled the goal after 18 minutes played. 3 - 0 Grilled put themselves up 4 - 0 when Cyril Künzler broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Coming from the right, Kalki Parvathaneni almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Kalki Parvathaneni gave Chu Xin Lee a quick hug as he left the field. After 62 minutes, Grilled's Cyril Künzler found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 5 - 0. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Chan Ze Han squirmed through their central defence after 75 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. The home side's Florus Romijn came close to extending the lead 76 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Gavriel Avrushmi managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. After 77 minutes, the defensive line of FCN created a counterattack through the middle that gave Edmond Embolo a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bernie Egan came on for Neeraj Muthyala. Moey Xin Seng could have increased the lead after 82 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The crowd roared its approval when Massoud Dob somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by FCN's Péter Nyírfalusi 83 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. The referee showed Grilled's 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 6 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Chu Xin Lee. Gilbert Webb was a disappointment, however. FCN's best player was Henryk Grochowski. However, Kofi Afrane made a disastrous appearance.
