It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-4-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled took the lead 12 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) was the scorer. With 22 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Cyril Künzler of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. With 23 minutes played, Grilled's
Cyril Künzler missed a penalty when the keeper made a premature dive in the right direction, and palmed the ball out of the way.
Vikram Mudaliar of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Ryszard Gryglik almost seemed to dance around
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita), his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Houle, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. 33 minutes in, Houle's
Bazyli Gąsiorowski received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Moey Xin Seng after 38 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 75 percent of possession.
51 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as
Bilal Mohammad Harun finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After 58 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Kalki Parvathaneni to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4.
Chan Ze Han received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 61 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 65 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Kalki Parvathaneni a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. After 73 minutes Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal from a penalty taken by
Cyril Künzler, but the keeper made an unbelievable save.
Neeraj Muthyala would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bernie Egan entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 6. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.
Most important Houle player was
Grégory Gauthier.
Nguyễn Ngọc Cảnh on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han.
Gilbert Webb turned in a dismal performance, however.
