Grilled 5 - 2 Manchester
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 89880 to
The Cooking Pot.
Gilbert Engelberger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Otto Zellner-Regula and
Jan Stjernlind. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. Starters:
Dob -
Webb,
Mohammad Harun -
Künzler,
Davlatov,
Muthyala,
Xin Lee,
Romijn -
Parvathaneni,
Ze Han,
Xin Seng.
Lineup:
Minev -
Abdul Rahman,
Hergolitsch -
Fürhacker,
Brovchenko,
Bussé,
Ma'Atuk,
Coombes -
Chin Chi,
Mrhálek,
Veres.
The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations.
Jahid Abdul Rahman sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
Yehonadav Ma'Atuk after 7 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1.
Chu Xin Lee showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 20 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. After 27 minutes of play,
Chu Xin Lee gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Manchester's
Arseni Bussé took a knock to the head after 29 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. The player that took his place was
Ulrich Langagergaard. Coming through the middle
Zoltán Veres almost scored the equaliser for Manchester after 35 minutes, but
Massoud Dob made an excellent save, tipping the awkward curled shot past the post.
Kalki Parvathaneni showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Grilled after 36 minutes to make the score 3 - 1.
Islom Davlatov unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. 3 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chu Xin Lee gave
Bernie Egan a quick hug as he left the field. The score became 4 - 1 at 58 minutes into the game, when Grilled were given a penalty which
Cyril Künzler blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! With 61 minutes played,
Yehonadav Ma'Atuk had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot from the middle flew harmlessly wide of the goal. Coming in on the left,
Jahid Abdul Rahman did everything right to get a goal for Manchester after 73 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper. Grilled increased the lead as
Moey Xin Seng struck to make the score 5 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Bilal Mohammad Harun reluctantly made way for
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) on the pitch. A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant
Sim Chin Chi had to leave the match early. It happened after 83 minutes.
Karim Mohd Syamsuddin had already been warming up, and came on for
Sim Chin Chi. Coming from the right,
Gilbert Webb almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 85 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as
Jahid Abdul Rahman anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 5 - 2. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Kalki Parvathaneni off the field.
José Luiz Velho took his place. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 5 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han.
José Luiz Velho was a disappointment, however. Most important Manchester player was
Jan Mrhálek.
Karim Mohd Syamsuddin on the other hand, had a terrible day.
