Corsairs 0 - 12 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at Holland Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Eliseo Grandes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Antoine Guérin and Edmund Howadt. They fielded: Thien-Huu - Min-Chiu, Tuong, Yom-Keh, Rahmat - Hung-Fai, Arshad, Ami-Hai, Li-Lian - Kuo-Wai, Lai-Hsiang.

The following players took the field: Dob - 中北 (Nakakita), Webb - Künzler, Davlatov, Mohammad Harun, Xin Seng, Romijn - Mudaliar, Xin Lee, Parvathaneni.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-4-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 2 minutes allowed Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. 6 minutes in, Corsairs's Yang Min-Chiu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. After 28 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. Corsairs's Li Li-Lian was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 30 minutes. With 31 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Grilled's Florus Romijn reached Moey Xin Seng" class="awayplayer">Moey Xin Seng's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 4. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 34 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 5. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar. The home crowd was not impressed when Islom Davlatov came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 35 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 6. 36 minutes into the match, Grilled's Chu Xin Lee" class="awayplayer">Chu Xin Lee popped up from nowhere, cheekily stole the ball off an opposition player and scored. 0 - 7. A late sliding challenge from Li Li-Lian was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Corsairs left a man down. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Wu Kuo-Wai took over the role of being the Corsairs captain. A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant Zhu Hung-Fai had to leave the match early. It happened after 41 minutes. The replacement for the injured player was Lian Wan-Chung. 0 - 7 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 83 percent.

The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Islom Davlatov wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Neeraj Muthyala after 46 minutes. 51 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 8 as Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="awayplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han. Corsairs's Zabidi Arshad was shown a yellow card after 71 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 72 minutes, Neeraj Muthyala took a hard knock between his legs. He needed a long breather but were eventually able to continue the game. Florus Romijn of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 73 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 9. A penalty was awarded after 77 minutes, and Cyril Künzler made the most of his chance to put Grilled up by another goal. 0 - 10 for the visitors. Grilled increased their lead after 83 minutes when Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 11, much to the home crowd's dismay. This third goal completed a hattrick for Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni. A drive down the left side allowed Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 85 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 12. Yang Min-Chiu went down after twisting his right ankle after 87 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. This gave Xu Tse-mach a chance to take to the field instead. Moey Xin Seng" class="awayplayer">Moey Xin Seng left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was the replacement. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was handed the Grilled captain's armband. The referee announced 5 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 0 - 12. Grilled had most of the ball, with 85 percent of possession.

Corsairs's top performer was clearly Chin Lai-Hsiang. Yue Tuong was a disappointment, however. Chu Xin Lee" class="awayplayer">Chu Xin Lee performed admirably for Grilled. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) turned in a dismal performance, however.
