Rancher Rabbits midfielder Abhishek Ramisetty snagged the transfer he had been looking for, after about a month of trying, as he left today for Swiss sixth division club stonedstonees on a free. The 18 year-old is nothing if not a striver, having forced his way into the Rabbits setup after being repeatedly rejected from the Chicken Wings.
This was a choice that the Wings may yet regret making, with the hardworking Ram having proved himself as a steady and reliable presence in the middle. He has further diversified his range to right wing, where he has developed at least two good moves - a whipped flat cross, and a sharp cut inside.
Rabbits scout Yip De Da, who was Ramisetty's main proponent after a lukewarm trial performance threatened to sink his career before it began, backed him to continue defying expectations. "Abhishek's made it where far more naturally-talented kids have fallen by the wayside, and he's never stopped challenging himself. With the right training, he'll have a long and wonderful future ahead of him."
