Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring.Players in Grilled heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.Daniel Quong could have put his team up another goal 30 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.Gene Filippone charged down the left and looked sure to score for Grilled 31 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide.The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
newbies increased their lead after 47 minutes when Curtis Dave broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.The newbies players could smell victory in the air.
