Tong Deports To Namek
A month after graduating from the Rancher Rabbits, 18 year-old winger Tong Fu Kang had a chance taken on him by newly-established Chilean outfit Club Deportivo Namek, who are beginning in the sixth division. He joins José Miguel Fuentes's squad together with Taiwanese teenager Li Youyu.
Tong's recruiter Ooi Long Ming expressed relief that he had been handed an opportunity. "Tong had all the basics for the position down pat. Precision dribbling, accurate passing, the works. The only minor thing against him might have been his age, but I'm still unsure why he remained in limbo for so long."
The state of the market has been as such, though, and Hari Rapaka and Lim Heng Sze remain seeking permanent positions. From the Birds, Rusli Ramli admitted to getting slightly discouraged. "I think I'll hang around for a little bit more, and then we'll see."
