Grilled 3 - 3 Earthquakes

iv id="matchReport"> 60922 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Alberto Martell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Olivier Feuvrier and Zenon Osuchowski. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Filippone - Ping Shun, Won, Meyer, Lee Hao, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Isufi.

A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Earthquakes. The following players took the field: Chiara - De Rogatis, Kong Lai, Li Sze, bin Abdul Hamid, bin Othman - Larsen, Laportilla - Pedro, Dunkel, Viscusi.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Earthquakes. Grilled's L. Aik Jia tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Earthquakes's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing N. Viscusi to score easily from the right flank for 0 - 1. Grilled's C. Meyer made an attempt at equalising 32 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. H. Larsen stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Earthquakes the goal to make it 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

W. Ping Shun tried to get a goal back for Grilled but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. The goal to make it 0 - 3 was scored by D. Dunkel after 48 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Earthquakes. After this, you could see that the players of Earthquakes were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Earthquakes coach let L. Long Chi replace F. bin Othman after 52 minutes. W. Ping Shun was able to knock home a free kick after 64 minutes to make the score 1 - 3. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Laportilla from Earthquakes a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 75 minutes L. Aik Jia made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to M. bin Mohd Kassim who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 2 - 3. 80 minutes in, Grilled's L. Aik Jia received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. C. Won showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 81 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 3 - 3 equaliser away. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

Grilled's best player was 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) . G. Filippone turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Earthquakes player was D. Dunkel. However, C. Li Sze made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 3.
