Bollini was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for newbies. 1 - 1. 1 - 2 was the score with 12 minutes played, after C. Ying Lee cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. After 17 minutes, Grilled's 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. newbies's G. Pisarski found himself alone on the left side 19 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! With 25 minutes played, newbies's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to G. Bollini he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 3. It was 2 - 3 at the break. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 52 minutes into the match, an alert G. Bollini bagged the ball for newbies, levelling the score to 3 - 3. This third goal completed a hattrick for G. Bollini. 53 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. A. Leong Kum came on for L. Aik Jia. After 60 minutes, the newbies coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. Priding himself in being an active coach, the newbies manager gave new instructions to his players after 60 minutes. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 71 minutes in when 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) came up alone against J. Caamaño who managed a block. newbies's G. Bollini tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 79 minutes into the match left Grilled's L. Lee Hao completely free to score. 3 - 4 for the visitors. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 84 minutes gave newbies a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and J. Haverhals stepped up to the challenge. 4 - 4 A mistake by the home side's central defence after 88 minutes allowed 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 4 - 5. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
