R. bin Ahmad fired a shot from distance after 22 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Grilled. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit W. Shun An just fine. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 30 minutes, making it 0 - 3. W. Shun An was noted down as the scorer. 31 minutes into the match, Grilled could have gone up another goal, but W. Ping Shun's penalty kick missed the goal by a mile. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 78 percent of the ball.

M. bin Mohd Kassim received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 50 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The home crowd was not impressed when M. bin Mohd Kassim came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 74 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 7. T. Sham was called on to replace Trappe's S. Okçu after 75 minutes following a nasty collision. With 75 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed W. Shun An of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8. After 80 minutes, Trappe switched C. Tong Wan with W. Chun Huat, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. G. Filippone left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Dorogan was the replacement. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 78 percent of possession.
