Paladins 0 - 4 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 36400 at Parkway Paladins Arena today. Björn Wöll was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fausto Sorarrain and Pedro Fermín Valéncia. Paladins started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Kastenberger - Llovera, Nie Lai, Ho Tong - Medapati, Neuman, Teck Jian, Simonsson, Hock Qiang - Chang Kian, Hao Hui.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Rykowski - Bakhtiar, bin Ahmad, Aik Jia, Awyong - Filippone, bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang) , 福泉 (Fuquan) - Wan Kang.

The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 7 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by F. Kastenberger. 8 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but R. bin Ahmad, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. 26 minutes into the game, L. Wan Kang had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. After 28 minutes Paladins's F. Kastenberger limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The terraces were silenced after 33 minutes when Grilled's 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, C. Nie Lai got himself booked. The manager of Paladins was not happy. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 65 percent of the ball.

After 50 minutes of game time, L. Wan Kang had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but F. Kastenberger was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. 53 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. L. Wan Kang wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by P. Bellamoli. C. Awyong sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from G. Filippone after 69 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 2. C. Awyong fired a shot from distance after 70 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Grilled. Grilled came close to extending their lead as C. Ying Lee delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 71 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Grilled's G. Filippone put the visitors up 0 - 3 after 74 minutes. With 79 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed R. bin Ahmad of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4. The players of Grilled now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Grilled had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

Paladins's top performer was clearly A. Hock Qiang. D. Llovera on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was M. bin Mohd Kassim. H. Bakhtiar turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
