Clouds darkened the skies at Chip Bee Gardens as 16000 spectators turned up for the match. Donato Blanchaud was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Enrique Fuentes and Peter Tomshøj. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Tian Han - Filippone, bin Ahmad - Aik Jia, bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang) , 福泉 (Fuquan) - Shun An, bin Sabtu, Jing Wei.

M-S saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Grilled took the lead 3 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. M. bin Mohd Kassim was the scorer. After 10 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Z. Jing Wei to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Grilled lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. T. Jie Shun of M-S received a yellow card after 15 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The home crowd was not impressed when G. Filippone came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 17 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 3. Grilled came close to extending their lead as C. bin Sabtu delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 22 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, W. Shun An would have put Grilled up another goal 23 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. 24 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

M. bin Mohd Kassim could have put his team up another goal 56 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 57 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 4. Grilled's Z. Jing Wei made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 69 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. With the scoreboard showing that 75 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. C. bin Sabtu wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for L. Wan Kang after 85 minutes. G. Filippone left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 85 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. R. van der Ban was the replacement. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.

The most dominating M-S player was without a doubt L. Kong Soon. On the other hand, B. Tsum's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly Z. Jing Wei. R. van der Ban turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
