CCP 2 - 5 Grilled

Dark skies made the crowd of 72072 at See Mee Lan Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Raoul Gahan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Constant Proust and Ángel Gómez. CCP tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: 富兴 (Fuxing) - Pursak, Gneo - Iancu, bin Abu Bakar, Pin Chin, Yew Yeng, Chang De - Yaraşık, Noriega, Amado.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Filippone - Ping Shun, 长春 (Changchun), Shun An, Jing Wei, bin Jantan - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

CCP tried to focus their attacks down the middle. 0 - 1 was the score with 9 minutes played, after Z. Jing Wei cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. Grilled's Z. Jing Wei was shown a yellow card after 12 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 14 minutes played, P. Amado of CCP made the score 1 - 1. 19 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for CCP to take the lead after a good cross from the right found P. Amado alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. The terraces were silenced after 22 minutes when Grilled's C. Ying Lee put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. It was almost a goal for CCP following M. Gneo's good header after a corner, it went just over the bar though. Z. Jing Wei received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 39 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Halftime score was 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

72 minutes into the match, 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. CCP didn't give in and with 76 minutes played H. Yaraşık was able to make the score 2 - 3 after an attack on the right. After 78 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Z. Jing Wei to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 4. That made three goals for Z. Jing Wei and he was marked down for the hat trick. G. Filippone left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. R. bin Ahmad was the replacement. With 80 minutes played, the CCP coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. L. Leanza came on, Ç. Pursak had to leave the fray. After 80 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave M. bin Mohd Kassim a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 5. The crowd groaned when M. bin Abu Bakar, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for CCP. 85 minutes in, Grilled's W. Ping Shun received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Unfortunately for CCP, L. Leanza was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. K. Guang Kwang replaced him. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

CCP's best player was M. bin Abu Bakar. On the other hand, K. Guang Kwang's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was C. Ying Lee. A. bin Jantan turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 5.
