Grilled 1 - 5 Yew
Clouds darkened the skies at
The Cooking Pot as 62944 spectators turned up for the match.
Heine Götterup was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tjaard Lindhout and
Tomas Homolác. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. A 5-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. They fielded: Tian Han - Bakhtiar, bin Ahmad, 长春 (Changchun), Madaini, Ross - 福泉 (Fuquan) , bin Mohd Kassim, Aik Jia, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee -.
Yew started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: San Gil Cortázar - Talamonti, Arévalo Morales, Hecl - Beierbahs, Estremera, Silva Mendoza, Rancke, Baliev - Ampuja, Reinicke.
Grilled demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. Yew were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 8 minutes allowed
H. Reinicke to score for Yew. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
R. Arévalo Morales after 21 minutes, and prevented Yew from going up another goal. 25 minutes in, Grilled appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate. Yew were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. A drive down the left side allowed
H. Reinicke to get in close and score another goal for Yew after 26 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed when
H. Reinicke came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 29 minutes. Yew were now up 0 - 3. By then
H. Reinicke had scored three goals - a hat trick! Yew's
M. Silva Mendoza was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled were forced into a substitution as
C. Ying Lee couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
P. Bellamoli to come in off the bench.
M. bin Mohd Kassim of Grilled seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
Q. Madaini.
H. Reinicke of Yew took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 39 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 4. After this, you could see that the players of Yew were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 4. Yew had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
The Grilled players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again. A late sliding challenge from
M. Silva Mendoza was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Yew left a man down. After 77 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
D. Hecl to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 5. After 82 minutes of game time,
J. Talamonti had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
W. Tian Han was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. With 85 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
D. Bacelar came on,
朱. 长春 (Changchun) had to leave the fray. Yew enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
R. bin Ahmad performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand,
H. Bakhtiar's play was disheartening. The most dominating Yew player was without a doubt
H. Reinicke.
J. Estremera was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 5.
