AdidasFC 2 - 5 Grilled

The 53594 spectators at Adidas West Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Adriano Agosto was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Adolfo Acebal and Luca Sasso. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. AdidasFC decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Kwan - Wai Pin, Spircu, Alperin, Matyjaszek, Jun - Tarı, Hao Yun, Chelu - Tse, Guang Jin.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. They fielded: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , bin Ahmad - Shun An, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, Ping Shun, bin Jantan - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for AdidasFC. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. 0 - 1 was the score with 10 minutes played, after C. Ying Lee cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. After 37 minutes of game time, 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but P. Kwan was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Coming in from the right, AdidasFC had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 38 minutes, but H. Jun's attempt to finish was easily stopped. After 39 minutes of play, S. Matyjaszek equalised for AdidasFC after an elegant attack from the right. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Grilled's C. Ying Lee after 40 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. After 41 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for C. Ying Lee who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 3. By then C. Ying Lee had scored three goals - a hat trick! AdidasFC's L. Hao Yun got himself booked for a foul. Grilled were forced into a substitution as 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing D. Bacelar to come in off the bench. 1 - 3 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 78 percent of possession.

C. Ying Lee was, after 53 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper P. Kwan made the save. AdidasFC's counterattacks created a good chance for R. Tse on the right after 54 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. S. Alperin sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from L. Hao Yun after 67 minutes of play, making the score 2 - 3. After 71 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. bin Jantan a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 4. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The visitors' Z. Jing Wei took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 77 minutes into the match. 2 - 5 for Grilled. The home crowd cheered when, after 79 minutes, D. Bacelar's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Grilled had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

AdidasFC's top performer was clearly V. Chelu. On the other hand, P. Kwan's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was C. Ying Lee. 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 5.
