Against a lesser team, Grilled could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 14 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. E. Kryus had to be alert to tip G. Oscar's fantastic penalty kick over the bar, denying Supernova a chance at the lead. The visiting C. Ying Lee was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 19 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. C. Ying Lee slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. L. Aik Jia received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 36 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Supernova's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 37 minutes into the match as B. Rocha ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. After 57 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave L. Aik Jia a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 57 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. L. Wan Kang was the replacement. The Grilled captaincy was handed to A. bin Jantan. The players of Grilled now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, P. Bellamoli came on for A. bin Jantan. D. Bacelar was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Supernova needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes S. Mashnouski made way for L. Rong Kok.
