Grilled increased their lead after 35 minutes when Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The players of Grilled now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 39 minutes, Grilled tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. The visitors' Chow Ying Lee took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 40 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Grilled. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 81 percent.

The home crowd was not impressed when 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 48 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 5. Grilled's Djan Bacelar missed a penalty shot 61 minutes into the contest. The shot produced was way too weak, allowing the keeper to collect it at his own leisure. A drive down the left side allowed Walter Ross to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 72 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 7. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 75 minutes, making it 0 - 8. Colby Awyong was noted down as the scorer. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Djan Bacelar wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Y. Lefébure after 85 minutes. Leong Wan Kang left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 88 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Lin An Chu was the replacement. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.
