Grilled 3 - 1 Floydianos
74 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
George Bräker was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
José María Berrocal and
Sezer Önem. Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players took the field: Seng - Ross, bin Ahmad - Shaahee, bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang) , 力勇 (Liyong) - Bellamoli, Bacelar, Wan Kang.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Floydianos. The following players had been chosen: Valença - Duquesne, Strauch, Spica, Iobbi - Lah, Tschan, Abate, Olofsson, Lemasson - Lerby.
Djan Bacelar caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 16 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. With 17 minutes played,
Pompeo Bellamoli of Grilled fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 28 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
Chow Ying Lee he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 0. By now, the players in Grilled felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
Leong Wan Kang cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Floydianos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
Gleb Dorogan came on for
Chow Ying Lee.
Renzo Iobbi stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Floydianos the goal to make it 3 - 1.
Walter Ross had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 85 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Shiya Shaahee wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Alex Fonseca after 88 minutes.
Leong Wan Kang wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by
Colby Awyong. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
Grilled's best player was
Rashid bin Ahmad.
Dan Seng turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Floydianos player was without a doubt
Björn Olofsson.
Rafael Abate on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.
