SingaporeLions 0 - 7 Grilled
000 spectators had come to SingaporeLionsArena this cloudy day.
Walter Reck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Grgo Toglja and
Rolf Knop. SingaporeLions started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Jing Teck - Tucek, Zaidan, Irauregui - Yun, See, Wei Jun, Rong Han, Tong Yong - Michel, Moreira.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Lineup: Noubaryan - bin Ahmad, Bakhtiar - 福泉 (Fuquan) , bin Mohd Kassim, 长春 (Changchun), Ying Lee, 力勇 (Liyong) - 勇航 (Yonghang) , Bellamoli, Bacelar.
The wings were the focus of most of SingaporeLions's attacks today. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. SingaporeLions made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
Sébastien Michel completely alone with keeper
Hovaness Noubaryan, who made a spectacular block. Grilled took the lead after 5 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Chow Ying Lee placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. With 24 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 2. There was concern in the stands when, at the 27 minute mark, SingaporeLions's
Charly Tucek hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 28 minutes into the game a free kick by
Djan Bacelar found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Grilled's lead 0 - 3. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Óscar Moreira got himself booked. The manager of SingaporeLions was not happy. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 69 percent of the ball.
The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Chow Ying Lee wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Abdul bin Jantan after 46 minutes.
Rashid bin Ahmad was, after 48 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Low Jing Teck made the save. After 54 minutes, Grilled's
Pompeo Bellamoli burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 59 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Rashid bin Ahmad who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 5. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
凌 (Ling) 福泉 (Fuquan) received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 66 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 69 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty and
Djan Bacelar was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 7 rolling the ball in by the right post.
Rashid bin Ahmad left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 88 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
Walter Ross was the replacement. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 79 percent of possession.
SingaporeLions's best player was
Sébastien Michel.
Low Jing Teck on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . On the other hand,
Hovaness Noubaryan's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 7.
