It was obvious that Grilled were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. The strategy for Reykjavík was to use their ability to press. After 10 minutes, Reykjavík put themselves up 0 - 1, as Maríus Maríusson finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Grilled pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Sylvestre Rine was called on to replace Reykjavík's Antonios Katsiouyiannis after 33 minutes following a nasty collision. The Reykjavík captaincy was handed to Serapio Morales. The sun seemed to put Pompeo Bellamoli in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. Grilled made it 1 - 1 as 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to Pompeo Bellamoli who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Grilled took the lead 40 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 64 percent of the ball.

凌 (Ling) 福泉 (Fuquan) wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by 梁 (Liang) 力勇 (Liyong). Cheers filled the stadium as 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to Grilled. After 62 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Leong Wan Kang might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Davíð Kristinsson made a spectacular save. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Dennis Kong got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. The intense heat forced Dennis Kong into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. Jaakko Haikio of Reykjavík was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The counterattacks of Grilled were deadly and 77 minutes into the game, Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 4 - 1. Maríus Maríusson of Reykjavík received a yellow card after 78 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 84 minutes played, Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The pressing tactics used by Grilled were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Colby Awyong left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 88 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Rashid bin Ahmad was the replacement. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.

Grilled's best player was Rashid bin Ahmad. However, Dennis Kong made a disastrous appearance. Serapio Morales performed admirably for Reykjavík. Sylvestre Rine on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
