JUtd 3 - 4 Grilled
098 spectators arrived at New Bukit Batok, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Stéphane Lozach was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Max Würfl and
Jesús Cobo del Rosal. All of
Jurong was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for JUtd. The following players took the field: Gröne - Domínguez, Azambuja, Villedieu - Grønkjær, Lipčák, Alzamora, Barcellos, Guridi - 尔福 (Erfu) , Senesi.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Stacey - 俊桂 (Jungui), Madaini - bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen) , Shun An, 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 8 minutes into the match.
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead. The visiting
Seytek Djekshenkulov was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 13 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. 18 minutes in, and JUtd were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
Gerardo Senesi picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. After 23 minutes of play,
Rasmus Grønkjær gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After a short break after 24 minutes, JUtd seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. After 25 minutes, the JUtd players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Grilled levelled the score after 53 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. Priding himself in being an active coach, the JUtd manager gave new instructions to his players after 67 minutes. As the 68 minute mark approached, the JUtd coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Gerardo Senesi reluctantly made way for
叶 (Ye) 安敏 (Anmin) on the pitch.
Rasmus Grønkjær of JUtd was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
Woon Shun An, which resulted in a goal making the score 3 - 2.
Li Cheng Wai was called on to replace JUtd's
Ján Lipčák after 81 minutes following a nasty collision. The JUtd captaincy was handed to
João Joaquim Azambuja. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. After 82 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) made it through the middle and struck home to make it 3 - 3. After 83 minutes, Grilled's
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 3 - 4. Grilled's
Dexter Stacey left the field after 85 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
Hovaness Noubaryan. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Walter Ross after 87 minutes. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 88 minutes,
Leong Wan Kang came on for
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.
姚 (Yao) 尔福 (Erfu) performed admirably for JUtd. On the other hand,
Li Cheng Wai's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chow Ying Lee.
Hovaness Noubaryan on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 4.
