Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) after 12 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. With 17 minutes played, heimu's Ljubomir Grgurović found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. Tobies Turu was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for heimu with a strike from the left, but Dexter Stacey managed to ward the closing shot off to a corner. After 26 minutes, Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. The crowd groaned when Tobies Turu, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for heimu. A well placed corner kick from Tobies Turu was followed by Willy Hinderdael's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for heimu, the score now 1 - 2. Chow Ying Lee could have put his team up another goal 41 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by heimu, with 52 percent of the ball.

47 minutes into the game, Paul Obojes came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The referee showed heimu's Ljubomir Grgurović the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The bench was restless, and with 69 minutes passed heimu's coach gave Raúl Chumbita the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Tobies Turu reluctantly left the field. Grilled's Paolo Iten made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 69 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. heimu tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Alex Fonseca wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by 林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui). 76 minutes in, and heimu were able to score the equalising goal to make it 2 - 2 when Stanisław Babul picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) off the field. 唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) took his place. Possession in this half belonged to heimu, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Rimgaudas Gilucevičius performed admirably for heimu. Sébastien Ledet was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. However, Paolo Iten made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.
