Grilled 4 - 5 Banogue
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 4202 had shown up at The Cooking Pot for the match.
Giuseppe Di Giorgio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Taisto Pelttari and
Sylvain Vigneau. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players took the field: Noubaryan - Bakhtiar, Awyong - Kong, Wee Li, Da Teck, Gudivada, Shaahee - 恒才 (Hengcai), Bellamoli, Wan Kang.
Banogue had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: McCarthy - Almarza, Agaciński, Hoenselaar, Crouse - Ravarotto, Mulrooney, O'Connor, Vameşu - Alszer, Costelloe.
Banogue took a creative approach on the field. Banogue's
Adrian Vameşu gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 6 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 7 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
Neo Da Teck needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Grilled's
Pompeo Bellamoli almost tied things up with 11 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. The corner kick from
Mayur Gudivada was powerfully met by the head of
唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) to make the score 1 - 1. Grilled fans held their breath as
Pompeo Bellamoli scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1!
Hilal Bakhtiar">
Hilal Bakhtiar of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Adrian Vameşu's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 25 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
Senan Costelloe who knocked it in for Banogue. 2 - 2!
Leong Wan Kang gave Grilled the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2 36 minutes into the game,
Marcos Almarza had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Eoin Flynn. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Banogue's
Adrian Vameşu somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Lucjan Alszer, who struck for 3 - 3. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for
Neo Da Teck to score after 39 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. After 40 minutes, Banogue put themselves up 3 - 4, as
Senan Costelloe finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. 3 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
After 74 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Kees Hoenselaar to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 3 - 5.
Michele Ravarotto was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Hovaness Noubaryan made the save. With 76 minutes played,
Neo Da Teck of Grilled fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 77 minutes on the clock,
Mayur Gudivada surprised the guest's goalkeeper with a snappy free kick, which reduced their lead to 4 - 5. After 88 minutes, Grilled switched
Colby Awyong with
Walter Ross, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. With 88 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
Yvan Lefébure came on,

Hilal Bakhtiar had to leave the fray. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Hovaness Noubaryan took over the role of being the Grilled captain. Grilled had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai).
Dennis Kong on the other hand, had a terrible day. Banogue's top performer was clearly
Joseph Crouse. However,
Chuck O'Connor made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 5.
