Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 37 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave 唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. After 41 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Teo Yong Yau to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 66 percent of the ball.

The home crowd was not impressed when Hung Wee Li came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 55 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 5. Neo Da Teck could have put his team up another goal 65 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Colby Awyong sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from Paolo Iten after 66 minutes of play. 0 - 6 Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Mayur Gudivada of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 67 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 7. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Hilal Bakhtiar">Hilal Bakhtiar wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Walter Ross after 88 minutes. Hovaness Noubaryan was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Colby Awyong left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 88 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Rosendo Chinchay was the replacement.
