Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Arcturules on this day. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile Fu Lai Yeng. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) gave Grilled the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. 31 minutes into the game, Arcturules had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. Grilled was determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. 35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as 林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Grilled. Arcturules's counterattacks created a good chance for 杜 (Du) 振廷 (Zhenting) on the right after 37 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. With 42 minutes played, Arcturules's 杜 (Du) 振廷 (Zhenting) fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked 杜 (Du) 振廷 (Zhenting) for diving. After 42 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Arcturules found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 72 percent possession of the ball.

Arcturules's coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players had solid organisation. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Arcturules's Sebastião Jesus a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 62 minutes into the game. After 73 minutes, Carlos Quinteros chose the right corner while taking his penalty, humiliating the home keeper, who dived in the wrong direction. The goal reduced the home lead to 2 - 1. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes, Yvan Lefébure came on for Alex Fonseca. As usual, 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard on this day and he couldn't keep pace at all. After 80 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Gaël Guérin made a spectacular save. 81 minutes into the game, Arcturules seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. With 82 minutes played, Chow Ying Lee could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After 83 minutes, Arcturules's Chau Wai Yew swiftly ran past Qassem Madaini and nutmegged the keeper! 2 - 2. 88 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Slavcho Tzonkov came on for Qassem Madaini. Dexter Stacey was handed the Grilled captain's armband. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 71 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. Yvan Lefébure turned in a dismal performance, however. Arcturules's best player was Chau Wai Yew. On the other hand, Sándor Bajusz's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 2.
