Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After 8 minutes, Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) dispatched a majestic long shot 9 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. Grilled will have to do without Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 21 minute mark. He was substituted by 唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai). Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 22 minutes, Grilled's Seytek Djekshenkulov burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. The away team's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 30 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. Chow Ying Lee made a quick rush after 32 minutes, but Zailizam bin Mansor had no problems keeping up the pace and stopped the attack. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) to get in close and score a goal after 34 minutes, leading to 0 - 4. Grilled's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 92 percent.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Li Boon Boon replace Abdul bin Jantan after 46 minutes. Grilled's Paolo Iten wanted to play on, but 46 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Teo Yong Yau. Grilled's Teo Yong Yau received a play slashing through the home side's central defence after 53 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 5 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's 朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 59 minutes into the game. Grilled was determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. A thrilling play through the middle 66 minutes into the match gave Grilled's Chow Ying Lee a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. After 67 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for 唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 7. With 71 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 8 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . By then 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The home crowd was not impressed when Chow Ying Lee came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 82 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 9. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 92 percent possession of the ball.

Most important werwinner player was Foo Woon Kwang. Lokmalhakim bin Abd Rahim was a disappointment, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Chow Ying Lee. Colby Awyong on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 9.
