Grilled 1 - 1 Batavia

584 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Luther Floyd was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cristian Tabacu and Maximilian K. Andersson. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Stacey - Tzonkov, Madaini - Iten, Djekshenkulov, bin Jantan, 长春 (Changchun), 尊文 (Zunwen) - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Batavia started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Falkenhusen - Maase, Szlendak, Hartshorne - 弘强 (Hongqiang) , Mjelde, Chlebicki, Chirciu - 福庆 (Fuqing), Cesário, Zeppegno.

Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Batavia were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 21 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim, who, unaided, came in from the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. After an industrious effort down the middle, Slavcho Tzonkov could have closed the game off after 26 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Batavia's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 40 minutes gone, but Edilio Zeppegno's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 60 percent of possession.

Grilled's Chow Ying Lee was shown a yellow card after 62 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Batavia needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes Torgeir Mjelde made way for Florian Gueydan. Batavia was now without a captain, so it was left to Ingo Maase to take the captain's armband. 75 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when Grilled's Chow Ying Lee received his second yellow card and was sent off. After 78 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by Dan Hartshorne. Slavcho Tzonkov would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Alex Fonseca entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 78 minutes. Making his way up the middle 82 minutes into the match, Alex Fonseca almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Eugen Falkenhusen blocked it to keep the score level. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, Alex Fonseca's play was disheartening. Batavia's best player was Vasco Cesário. However, Dan Hartshorne made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
