Shining 4 - 1 Grilled
175 spectators had come to Blackout Arena this cloudy day.
Frankobert Voßberggrube was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nicolás Olivera and
Nordin Barnier. Shining had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: bin Meri - Lezaun, bin Nan, 坤超 (Kunchao) - Mayer, Sellerup, Wörishofer, Boross, Pierrot - Trielli, Bousquet.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Stacey - Madaini, Tzonkov, 俊桂 (Jungui) - Iten, bin Jantan, Fonseca, Djekshenkulov, 长春 (Changchun) - bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee.
A questionable penalty 4 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
Antonio Trielli knocked the ball home.
Hannes Mayer unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Étienne Bousquet gave Shining supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0 after 40 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. By now, the players in Shining felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 41 minutes, Shining did not go for a direct shot but instead aimed for the area just in front of the keeper. The attacking players made several runs as the ball was played and made it hard for the defenders to protect their goal. After a short tussle with the defender,
Étienne Bousquet could finally lay the ball to rest behind the keeper. 3 - 0, and proof that it can pay off to come prepared. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Shining claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
After a short break in the 55 minute, Shining seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. As
Étienne Bousquet was substituted 60 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
Markus Võigemast was the replacement. The home team's fans were upset when, after 72 minutes, the visiting
Abdul bin Jantan broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 3 - 1 was the score. 86 minutes into the game,
Mazlan bin Meri had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Sarp Nakip.
Antonio Trielli increased Shining's lead to 4 - 1 with a penalty spot cannonball. Shining's
Mohd Rizalruddin bin Nan got himself booked for a foul. The bench was restless, and with 89 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave
Vukota Crkvenjakov the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
Slavcho Tzonkov reluctantly left the field. With 89 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
Yvan Lefébure came on,
Alex Fonseca had to leave the fray. Shining enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
Mohd Rizalruddin bin Nan performed admirably for Shining. However,
Martin Pierrot made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim.
Paolo Iten turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
