Scorer for Smedge was Martin Macchiavello. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Smedge's lead to 3 - 1 as Benjamin Stanley finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. Confident in their lead, Smedge's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
