Shining tried to focus their attacks down the middle. For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Kurt Sellerup didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. After a fine move down the middle Antonio Trielli nearly gave the home side a goal after 17 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. Walter Ross had a difficult time on the field; the muddy surface was clearly affecting his technique. The guests took the lead 26 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Chow Ying Lee scoring the 0 - 1 goal. The corner kick from Pedro Lezaun set Geir Rørstad up perfectly, as he soared to meet the ball, heading it in for 1 - 1. 38 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. Scorer for Shining was Markus Võigemast. The referee showed Shining's Siegwart Wörishofer the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Shining enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes Walter Ross made way for Anders Josefsson. As Lin Khong Hai was substituted 60 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead. Hijmen Huf was the replacement. Hijmen Huf's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 63 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a snappy through ball to Antonio Trielli who knocked it in for Shining. 3-1! With 77 minutes played, Shining's Antonio Trielli tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. A bit later, Grilled's Erik Back easily reduced to 3 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. The coach of Shining was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 88 minutes, Mathis Richer came on for Markus Võigemast. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's Chow Ying Lee a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 88 minutes into the game. 88 minutes into the match, Pedro Lezaun could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim knocked one home from a counter-attack down the right wing, making the score 3 - 3 after 89 minutes. Sarp Nakip looked great 89 minutes into the match after stopping a shot by the visitors' Qassem Madaini. Despite having a free kick in a decent position 89 minutes in, Shining tried a variation that brought the ball through to the other end of the penalty area. However, Zabidi bin Katmon did not manage to connect with it, as his team mates had hoped, and the ball went out. This half belonged to Shining, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Most important Shining player was Kurt Sellerup. Hijmen Huf turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Domenik Bögengang. Gleb Dorogan was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 3.
