Grilled 1 - 1 Changi
640 spectators had come to The Cooking Pot this cloudy day.
Lorenzo Melchiorre was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Arturo Massidda and
André Pieri. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Behr, 俊桂 (Jungui) - Dorogan, Kim, Pujolràs, Lefébure, Josefsson - bin Mohd Kassim, Bögengang, Ying Lee.
Changi had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Sapir - bin Kunju Mohamad, Cevaal, bin Zainal - 泽荣 (Zerong) , Turpin, bin Ismail, Cabrito, bin Hussain - Rusanu, Petricã.
Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Changi's
Mohd Akmal Hizam bin Ismail got himself booked. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for
Anders Josefsson to get the go-ahead goal after 24 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
Gleb Dorogan earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 25 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Grilled. 1 - 0.
Yvan Lefébure had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 29 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
The home side's
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim came close to extending the lead 53 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
Dror Sapir managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The counterattacks of Changi were deadly and 54 minutes into the game,
Aizal bin Hussain got a long pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 1. After 60 minutes, the Changi coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. With the match clock at 60 minutes, Changi modified their style of play a little bit. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Quah Han Kok came on for
Anders Josefsson. 80 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Grilled to take the lead after a good centering pass from the right found
Chow Ying Lee alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Domenik Bögengang.
Gleb Dorogan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Changi's top performer was clearly
Arnout Cevaal. On the other hand,
陈 (Chen) 泽荣 (Zerong) 's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 1.
