Soulf1re 0 - 5 Grilled

998 punters turned up at Aami Park, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Mattia Di Mauro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Max Runyon and Håkan Mellhult. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Soulf1re decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Starters: Arnoldussen - Radu, Cubas - Chun Kwang, Pons, Dommer-Toft, Kluck, Ze Tian - Loong Kum, 瑞坚 (Ruijian), 崇广 (Chongguang).

Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Behr, Mausisa - Han Kok, Josefsson, Pujolràs, Back, Stanca - 勇航 (Yonghang) , 修宇 (Xiuyu), bin Mohamad.

Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 10 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Grilled's Roberto Mausisa received a play slashing through the home side's central defence after 16 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 2 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The visitors' Anders Josefsson took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 19 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Grilled. Grilled's Niculae Stanca was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 24 minutes. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Soulf1re's Johnny Dommer-Toft a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 30 minutes into the game. The referee signalled a penalty 31 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box. Quah Han Kok knocked home the 0 - 4 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. By now, the players in Grilled felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defense and not risking too much going forward. It was 0 - 4 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

Grilled's Marc Pujolràs wanted to play on, but 46 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Edvaldo Mourão. After 63 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Edvaldo Mourão who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 5. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from Safri bin Mohamad after 75 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 54 percent possession of the ball.

Soulf1re's best player was Guilhem Pons. On the other hand, Yang Ze Tian's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly Valdir Dias Paes. However, Edvaldo Mourão made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 5.
