Shadows 0 - 7 Grilled
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 12000 at The Red Shadows Arena today.
Walter Zadina was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Niels Lundby and
Jari Fagerholm. Shadows started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: bin Abu Bakar - Yau Kim, bin Ismail, 翊颂 (Yisong), Wai Ting - bin Ku Zainol, bin Meri, bin Ariffin, Kok Xin - Zainuddin, Yew Kok .
Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Silvera - Behr, Olsson - Han Kok, Josefsson, Kim, Mourão, Stanca - 勇航 (Yonghang) , 修宇 (Xiuyu), bin Mohamad .
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 4 minutes allowed
Anders Josefsson to score the 0 - 1 goal for Grilled. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Quah Han Kok after 5 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal.
Björn Olsson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 2. A thrilling play through the middle 18 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Safri bin Mohamad a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. Grilled's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 20 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4. Halftime score was 0 - 4. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.
The home crowd cheered when, after 57 minutes,
Niculae Stanca's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Quah Han Kok tried using a burst of speed to get past his defender after 60 minutes, but it takes more than that to get past fast
Chng Wai Ting. Grilled's
Kyou-Chull Kim made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 71 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender sprang up, clearing the ball on the line. After 74 minutes, Grilled's
Edvaldo Mourão burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. 79 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty and
Quah Han Kok was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 6 rolling the ball in by the right post. The game had been on for 81 minutes when
Quah Han Kok broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.
Most important Shadows player was
Muhamad Khalid bin Meri. However,
Roshadi bin Abu Bakar made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was
Safri bin Mohamad.
Alvaro Silvera on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 7.
