For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Ioan-Alexandru Mircea received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 21 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 22 minutes, Grilled did not go for a direct shot but instead aimed for the area just in front of the keeper. The attacking players made several runs as the ball was played and made it hard for the defenders to protect their goal. After a short tussle with the defender, Safri bin Mohamad could finally lay the ball to rest behind the keeper. 1 - 1, and proof that it can pay off to come prepared. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. This half belonged to SportTec, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Edvaldo Mourão came on for Kyou-Chull Kim. The Grilled captaincy was handed to Edvaldo Mourão. Grilled had a good opportunity to take the lead as 范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu) came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Niculae Drăghici. Safri bin Mohamad of Grilled received a yellow card after 70 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu) would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Chow Ying Lee entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 75 minutes. SportTec took the lead 77 minutes into the game, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Stéphane Marguerite was the scorer. The game was close to savage at times, and Grilled's Safri bin Mohamad received a second yellow card after 79 minutes, his ticket out of the game. A thrilling play through the middle 80 minutes into the match gave SportTec's Horea Brezoi a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. With 88 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Horea Brezoi, of SportTec, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 1 - 4. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for SportTec. Grilled's Edvaldo Mourão got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 4. Grilled's Anders Josefsson was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. SportTec enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Chow Ying Lee. However, Han Lik-Tsun made a disastrous appearance. SportTec's best player was Stéphane Marguerite. Ioan-Alexandru Mircea was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
