Wathan took a creative approach on the field. For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The left side created an opportunity for the visitors 11 minutes into the match, and Edvaldo Mourão wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. With 25 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Björn Olsson, of Grilled, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 2. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. Safri bin Mohamad was, after 34 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but home side's keeper Joshua Schuilenburg made the save. The home crowd cheered when, after 37 minutes, Anders Josefsson's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

After 50 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. Edvaldo Mourão sailed high above the opponents as he headed the 0-4 goal in on a corner kick from Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob after 73 minutes of play. The home crowd were delighted when Ismail Shareef scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 1 to 4. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure! The game had been on for 78 minutes when 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 1 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay. Wathan reduced the lead to 2 - 5 with 81 minutes on the clock when Throo Shauqee got the best of a ball floated in from the left. After 84 minutes Wathan's Imam Al-Sulayman contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Wathan held the ball, with a clear 58 percent of possession.

Most important Wathan player was Ismail Shareef. However, Throo Shauqee made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was Safri bin Mohamad. Han Lik-Tsun was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 5.
