Prince 4 - 5 Grilled
ouds darkened the skies at Silemani Palace as 1014 spectators turned up for the match.
Massimo Zingaretti was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bonifaz Rodbertus and
Saúl Aranda. Prince started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Atiyah - Marwan, Jalal, Attia - Al-Maslawi, Essam, Al-Hilali, Khalis, Muntazir - Abdul-Salam, Mahmood.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Starters: Silvera - Woon Jin, Mirchev, bin Yaacob - Mourão, Chuan Heng, Dorogan, 达荣 (Darong) - 力海 (Lihai) , Cunha Simões, bin Mohamad.
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 7 minutes, Grilled's
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Prince's
Firas Muntazir got himself booked for a foul. Grilled were forced to a substitution as
Gleb Dorogan couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing
Lee Han Lai to come in from the sidelines. After 27 minutes, Grilled were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the kicker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take the team mates a bit by surprise.
Lim Chuan Heng did manage a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball out of bounds. After 32 minutes of play,
Ayob Marwan equalised for Prince after an elegant attack from the right. With 39 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
Fouad Al-Maslawi flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. This half belonged to Prince, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's
Ângelo Cunha Simões was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes.
Michele Salieri was given a chance to change things around. After 46 minutes, Grilled switched
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) with
Martin Torsson, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Prince managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
Yasen Attia cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The visitors got one back when
Martin Torsson finished off a pass from the left and scored after 65 minutes. 3 - 2 was the score.
Michele Salieri finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 3 - 3 69 minutes into the match. Prince took the lead after 70 minutes, as a result of
Laith Khalis's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 4 - 3. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Prince's
Yasen Attia a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 71 minutes into the game. The defenders were clearly outwitted by Grilled after 73 minutes. The disciplined free kick combination shifted the ball quickly to one side of the box, then back to the other.
Lee Han Lai appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. 4 - 4. Prince claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. The guests almost went up by a goal after 94 minutes when
Lee Han Lai came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Grilled was determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
封 (Feng) 达荣 (Darong) came close to putting the visiting team one up 96 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
Sulaiman Atiyah managed to tip the ball to a corner. Grilled took the lead 100 minutes into the game, scoring the 4 - 5 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
封 (Feng) 达荣 (Darong) was the scorer. With that Grilled had won the game in extra time.
Prince's best player was
Firas Muntazir.
Zaki Essam on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was
Martin Torsson.
Lim Chuan Heng was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 5.
