Grilled 5 - 2 Kampung

652 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Hannfried Hintzmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luka Jakoplić and Bobbie Frings. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Starters: Dias Paes - Crkvenjakov, Behr, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, Han Kok, Dorogan - Rotteveel, bin Mohd Kassim, Bögengang.

Kampung started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Seridó - Shun Ting, Salama, bin Fadzim - Yeow Chu, Kwang Min, Wilstra, 达材 (Dacai) , Cavada - Navarro Ros, Marchant.

Today, Grilled's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Kampung clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. After 24 minutes, Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 1 - 0 goal, giving Grilled the lead. Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. 37 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Domenik Bögengang dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Grilled. Ciro Penati gave Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0 after 42 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. With 43 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Kampung's Zhu Yeow Chu reached Mickaël Marchant's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 4 - 1. A well placed corner kick from Au Shun Ting was followed by Alejandro Navarro Ros's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Kampung, the score now 4-2. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 2. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Gleb Dorogan increased Grilled's lead to 5 - 2, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Martin Torsson replace Maikel Rotteveel after 60 minutes. Grilled's Domenik Bögengang wanted to play on, but 60 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Michele Salieri. 69 minutes into the match, Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack on the wings when they choose to attack on the wing instead of in the middle. Kampung had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 81 minutes, but Alejandro Navarro Ros's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. The crowd roared its approval when Valdir Dias Paes somehow managed to block what seemed to be a sure goal by Kampung's Rosman bin Fadzim 83 minutes into the game. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 57 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Matthias Branbilla. Michele Salieri was a disappointment, however. Kampung's best player was Chow Kwang Min. Fabinho Seridó turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
