Grilled 5 - 3 Rajah
070 spectators arrived at The Cooking Pot, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Aca Kolar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rubén Benedito and
Árpád Boross. Grilled decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Árva, Behr, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, Han Kok, Dorogan - Rotteveel, Bögengang, bin Mohd Kassim.
Rajah tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Straal - Belmonte, Bjørn, Bustamante - Román, Nie Jin, Luengo, Plasterk - Woon Loong, Wai Guang, Waczyński.
Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Rajah mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After 8 minutes,
Maikel Rotteveel sent the corner kick right to
Domenik Bögengang who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1-0! The home crowd was dismayed when the referee called a penalty for Rajah after 14 minutes.
Ignacio Belmonte calmly took the shot and scored, tying the game at 1 - 1. Rajah had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 36 minutes in when
Danny Plasterk came up alone against
Valdir Dias Paes who managed a block.
Maikel Rotteveel's speed was clear to see after 41 minutes as he darted past his marker and struck an opening pass to
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim who scored the 2-1 goal. The visitors didn't give in and, after 42 minutes,
Rafał Waczyński got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Rajah, with an impressive 60 percent possession of the ball.
Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a goal after 54 minutes by
Maikel Rotteveel for Grilled, putting them ahead 3 - 2. With 64 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Grilled's
Ciro Penati reached
Domenik Bögengang's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 4 - 2. A bit later, Rajah's
Lee Wai Guang easily reduced to 4 - 3 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Domenik Bögengang putting the lead up to 5 - 3. This third goal made a hat trick for
Domenik Bögengang. 89 minutes into the game, Rajah's attack got through on the right, but
Tay Woon Loong couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. Rajah claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Valdir Dias Paes.
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Rajah player was
Tay Woon Loong. On the other hand,
Jacob Bjørn's play was disheartening. The match ends 5 - 3.
