Bacardi 8 - 2 Grilled
04 spectators arrived at Desperados, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Marc Mújica was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sebastien Kramer and
Jorge Alcaraz. Bacardi tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Tapia - Carvalho Cunha, Matos, Baiano - Moreira Vieira, Domingues, Miranda Carvalho, Kolosov, Alves Carvalho - Lebon, Laveggi.
A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Huel-sheng - Mirchev, Woon Jin, bin Yaacob, 顺国 (Shunguo) - Tong Ping, Jun Chang, 达荣 (Darong) - Salieri, Torsson, 力海 (Lihai) .
Bacardi tried to focus their attacks down the middle. For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 8 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
Carlos Carvalho Cunha, who, unaided, came in from the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. After 19 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Jacinto Alves Carvalho might have resulted in another goal for Bacardi. However,
Cheung Huel-sheng made a spectacular save.
Reuven Kolosov increased Bacardi's lead to 2 - 0, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. Grilled were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 32 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) , who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1. Bacardi solidified their lead at the 36 minute mark, as
Jacinto Alves Carvalho manoeuvered the ball through the opposing central defence and finished for 3 - 1. By now, Bacardi were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. An accurate cross from Grilled's
封 (Feng) 达荣 (Darong) was met with a wonderful glancing header from
Martin Torsson, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 3 - 2. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Bacardi's
Agostinho Matos putting the lead up to 4 - 2. 4 - 2 was the halftime score. Bacardi held the ball, with a clear 76 percent of possession.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Bacardi's lead to 5 - 2 as
Aurélien Lebon finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Adriano Moreira Vieira squirmed himself through their central defence after 50 minutes, bringing the lead to 6 - 2. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes.
Ângelo Cunha Simões was given a chance to change things around. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 65 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper.
Jacinto Alves Carvalho should probably have put his team up another goal after 66 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Cheung Huel-sheng kept the visitors in the game. Cheers filled the stadium as
Luciano Miranda Carvalho broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 7 - 2 goal for Bacardi. 82 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Aurélien Lebon dashed through, knocking home 8 - 2 for Bacardi. Bacardi claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.
Most important Bacardi player was
Aurélien Lebon.
Jacinto Alves Carvalho on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was
Michele Salieri.
Cheung Huel-sheng was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 2.
